What do RDX’s “Jump,” Tommy Lee’s “Psycho” and Popcaan’s “When Mi Party” all have in common? Besides for being some of 2012′s biggest dancehall singles, they’re all now T-shirts from dancehall promo don Johnny Wonder’s 21st Hapilos, the digital distribution company which helped break them. Other tees—each of which features the digital single cover art of the respective song—include Cham’s “Lawless,” Kartel’s “Mentally Free,” Konshens’ “A So Mi Tan,” and the Wild Bubble riddim. One of dancehall’s wickedest choreography duos posted some footage from their most recent creation, performed at New York’s Syabrite dance showcase—and di ting mad a road! The piece titled “Real Bad Gyals” features some very familiar ladies from the New York dancehall scene, including a good friend of ours, the very fine Lindsay Hall, and these women definitely lived up to the title.

With Major Lazer’s sophomore LP on the horizon, the Mad Decent collective seems to be getting back into island mode. The label just dropped the reggae-influenced Badman Rave EP from “Original Don” producers Party Squad last week, and now they’ve put us on to this brand-new release from a resurgent South Rakkas Crew (a/k/a D Rakkas), of Chinkuzi riddim fame.
