Natalie Storm Punany Monologues

LargeUp’s Punany Monologues columnist and all-around dancehall sex symbol Natalie Storm has been laying extremely low of late, but fortunately Montreal’s Poirier has helped keep her voice in the mix, with his recent single “Gal U Good” featuring Natalie on vocals.

Bob and Wine: Tifa Gets Punchy in “Champion Bubbler” Video

Words by Jesse Serwer—

Major Lazer in Kingston, Jamaica

It’s been a few years since Tifa first grabbed our attention as part of TNT, or the Badda Badda Gals, with Natalie Storm and Timberlee. Audio: The Heatwave Bring “Pum Pum Bax”

Words by DJ Theory—

Whoa gosh.. another dancefloor destroyer here courtesy of our folks across the lake at The Heatwave headquarters. For this concoction they blend x-rated vocals from Tommy Lee, Busy Signal and Natalie Storm with the infectious 2-step tune “Bax” from London killa Mosca, and it results in a clever crossover refix that’s a UK deejay’s wet dream.. Couldn’t help but recall our girl The Large‘s version as well, which also knocks. Stream Pum Pum Bax below or cop the free download here. Nice one!

It seems that A-Trak, Fool’s Gold Records and Pitchfork Media have caught on to what we’ve known for oh, about five years now… that Natalie Storm is the shit. The indie rock website today premiered the video for “Like the Dancefloor,” a reworking of A-Trak and DJ Zinc’s “Stingray” featuring vocals from the author of our very own sex column, Punany Monologues. We’ve long wondered why the electrofied garrison dancehall innovator doesn’t get more love from the wider music world, so this development is definitely a good look.

LargeUp Premiere: Toddla T vs. David Heartbreak feat. Mr. Lexx, “Pum Pum”

Words by DJ Theory —

Bashment mechanics Toddla T and David Heartbreak meet bedroom specialist Mr Lexx to give us some insight on what it means to be a modern-day gallis on their new tune titled, you guessed it.. Pum Pum. Taking authentic dancehall to the electronic stage can be a little tricky, but each of these dudes know the deal with crossover territory and have been pushing the boundaries with major releases and collaborations in their respective corners. For this new double dose of versions from Toddla’s Girls Music imprint, you get a taste of raw dancehall vibes inna moombahton fashion. The artist formerly known as Lexxus is in vintage form, riding the signature 108bpm riddim with his distinctive flow, and a couple nods to hip-hop.
