Last week, our Mixtape Mondays column featured The Transporter, the new, action movie-inspired, full-length mixtape from diabolical dancehall genius and LargeUp favorite Leftside, a/k/a Dr. Evil. Audio: Leftside feat. Sean Paul, “Want Yuh Body” (Flip)

Words by Jesse Serwer—

Leftside’s “Want Yuh Body” has been a necessary tool in any dancehall DJ’s arsenal for what seems like years. Left’s even had a video for the remix featuring Mystic out since last September. Yet nearly two years after its release, we now have Sean Paul jumping on a house-meets-dancehall flip (cause that’s pretty much how he rolls at all times these days) of “Want Yuh Body.” SP and Leftside (well, his alter ego Mr. Evil, to be specific) have combo’ed before, most notably on the Ultra Records release “Back it Up,” and once again the duo match up well. Come to think of it, dancehall could use really a Watch the Throne-type combo album to build some hype around it right now, and I’m nominating Sean and Leftside to do it. They’ve got the chemistry, contrasting styles and lack of ego to pull it off.
