Vocalist Steve Newland—a/k/a “The Lightning” and lead vocalist of Jamaica’s top-ranking Rootz Underground band—recently released an album through Dubshot Records called The Lost Tracks, containing various solo tracks he’s recorded over the years. “Zion Awake” isn’t our favorite tune on the set—that would be the haunting “Marching On (Enchanted Flute)”—but it’s got a powerful new video, full of alternately bright and heavy visuals to complement its message of awareness and unity.
