Cool Hand Luke, Dancehall Document Vol. 1 (via Shimmy Shimmy): London’s Cool Hand Luke comes nice and easy on Dancehall Document, a cool 45 mins of 80′s and 90′s hits and rarities appropriately picked from 100% vinyl. Classic artists like Pliers, Courtney Melody, Sanchez and Super Cat are featured, as well as some lesser known singers we’re not even familiar with. The culture snobs over at High Snobiety just posted this lovely black and white Afflicted Yard footage of our doopses from Federation Sound on their recent trip to Amsterdam. Speaks for itself but I would like to just add that we’d like to see more images of a flag-waving Mavado set to quiet etudes for piano–and more images of powdered-wig, drawing-room dancehall queens set to “I’m So Special.”
