MARTEI KORLEY
Born in Denmark of Danish and Ghanaian heritage, photographer Martei Korley has long since called NYC home. His images have proudly graced the pages and covers of international publications like Rolling Stone, The Source, Trace, The Fader, Riddim, and XLR8R. At the same time he has earned his stripes in Jamaica, working in Kingston for extended periods as the go-to photographer for VP Records and Greensleeves, among others. Originally drawn to photography as a means of supporting his music career, Korley quickly developed this sideline into a powerful creative expression in it’s own right. Over time, his extensive relationships with Jamaican musicians — and proven ability to get shots that are impossible for other photographers — has established him as one of reggae music’s foremost documentarians. As a result he has shot editorials and album packaging for almost every major reggae artist working today, in addition to portraiture, fashion, interiors and landscapes for editorials and advertising.

DAVE “DJ GRAVY” SUSSER
As a DJ and promoter, Dave “DJ Gravy” Susser has made dancehall and its culture more relevant than ever in New York. Best known for founding the cultishly popular Rice & Peas monthly and bringing reggae to the weekly “ReOpened” event at Santos Party House, he has also hosted, planned, and promoted special events for Frank 151, Okayplayer, Scion, Fader, Urb, CMJ, VP Records, Jamrock Magazine, Backayard Magazine, and artists like Gyptian, Collie Buddz, Wayne Wonder, Assassin, and Timberlee. Reggae luminaries Sean Paul, Shaggy, Richie Spice, Mr. Vegas and many others have made special appearances at his events. He’s also been a key behind the scenes connector, helping Diplo form the Major Lazer group and record their debut album, breaking new music and ultimately altering the course of pop culture in a progressive new direction.

JESSE SERWER
LargeUp Editor Jesse Serwer is a veteran journalist and authority on hip-hop and dancehall culture. His writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Rolling Stone, the Guardian, Billboard, the Village Voice, Time Out New York, XXL, Complex, XLR8R, and Wax Poetics, among other publications. A native New Yorker, he splits his time between Brooklyn and Miami.
