From DR With Love: Free Music!

Words by Eddie STATS Houghton, via Mad Decent

DR600

DJ Paul Devro just posted an extra-size portion of his favorite new selections from the Dominican Republic over at the Mad Decent blog; a generous trans-shipment of free music and a nice cross-section of Latin house, carnival sounds, dembow (aka reggaeton) and of course mambo de calle. Not sure how closely this represents the scene on the ground but Devro should know a thing or two about Dominican sounds, having developed his ear as DJ and part-time svengali for Mad Decent’s own Maluca Mala, who put nuff merengue into her Washington Heights Chinese-Caribbean mofongo. Download the whole dang package here or check the track-listing and listen here if you want to grab ‘em individually. Give thanks!
